The Ohio Boxboard Company and local union plan a big picnic at Chippewa Lake Park on Saturday July 29. Truck Collision Injures Men Near Lancetown Schoolhouse

A Sunday evening crash at the T intersection by the old Lancetown Schoolhouse in Rittman involved Chester Straub driving a truck and Richard Tanner in a 1949 Chevrolet. Straub failed to stop at the dead end, pushing Tanner into a hay field. no charges were filed.

Garden Club Picnic At Kimsey Home

Rittman Garden Club held a picnic at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Kimsey on Fifth Street last Thursday evening July 13. First Wheat From Local Crops Delivered in Area

The first load of wheat was brought to Hershey and Roh by Melvin Beery of Route 604. The wheat was reported near average in quality as farmers face the annual moisture challenge. This soft winter wheat, used for pastry flour, should contain 14 percent moisture or less but Ohio climate makes this difficult.
