New Shelving Installed at Public Library
Public library adds 954 feet of shelving last Thursday to expand the collection. Friends of the Library volunteers worked with librarian Miss Kathleen Hostetler to arrange new books and move volumes. Since City Librarian Hostetler took charge, 1340 volumes were added, 40 new volumes monthly, plus a ceiling projector for bedfast patients. At a Monday council meeting C E Rhonemus summarized a Columbus P U C O hearing on Ohio Central Telephone Co. He warned that if approved, business phones could rise 100 percent and residence lines 35 to 40 percent. Rhonemus noted few exchanges attended and questioned operator practices. He said dial phone upgrades would wait until equipment cannot be expanded.
