Senior Hi Fellowship group of Milton United Presbyterian Church rode a real tour wheel trolley in Pittsburgh with ten members and three adults. They toured Theological Seminary Cathedral of Learning Heinz Chapel Mellon Square and visited for dinner and a show before returning home.

Rittman School Bond Issue Back On Ballot
Rittman board of education to vote tonight to place a 1 185 000 bond measure on the November ballot to build a new two story high school for about 559 students. The plan includes 12 classrooms multiple labs a library and gym facilities with a 3 6 mill levy for 23 years. The issue failed last May and board members say a voter information campaign will precede a fall vote. The meeting will also discuss the 1967 budget bus contracts and summer maintenance reports.

Petition filed to scrap Rittman charter seek mayor council form
Two hundred sixty nine residents of Rittman filed an initiative petition with the Wayne County Board of Elections seeking repeal of the city charter and return to a mayor council government. Organized by Charles Y. Trent Ronald J. Valentine and James W Chambers II the movement backs a city manager type of government. Will Laughlin claims 212 signatures are proper. The board will verify them. Mayor Ashton Hall supported the city manager plan at a council meeting.

Conley's Discount Department store in the Rittman Shopping Center opens Thursday joining Kroger and Family Drug. The 20 104 square foot shopping space includes 15400 store area and a 5000 square foot lawn and garden section. James A Conley leads the Canton firm with Michael Ring as manager and Louis Hostetler as assistant manager. John Jason of Medina oversees the Rittman Medina Dover and Chardon stores. The store will hire 20 full time and 10 part time workers, part of a regional expansion toward 150 employees.

Two Doylestown men hurt in crash near routes 548 and 70
Doylestown residents Paul Talbott and Vernon Cornelius were in a crash at the intersection of Routes 548 and 70 on Tuesday while en route to Packaging Corporation of America. Edward King of Wadsworth and George King of Wadsworth were in the other vehicle. All were taken to Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital for X-rays and observation. Talbott cited for failure to yield.
