Rittman pool offers adults only swims on Tuesdays
The Rittman pool now hosts adult swims from 6 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday for 21 and over or married couples. Brett Southworth of Niantic Conn returned home after two weeks with his grandparents Mr and Mrs Charles Grant. Paula Williams, daughter of Mr and Mrs Paul Williams 40 N Metzger, was named to the Dean's List for the Spring Quarter at the University of Akron. LuAnn Forrer, daughter of Mr and Mrs Wayne Forrer, pledged Tau Beta Sigma, the National Honorary Band Sorority at Akron. Roger Cline attends Little League Camp in William sport Pa from July 1 to 13 with 101 boys.

Rittman Students Attend Boys and Girls State Programs
Four Rittman youths served at Boys State in Ashland College and Girls State in Columbus. Alan Beery and Bruce Trogdon represented the American Legion and Rittman Rotary Club, with Bruce elected to the Senate by the Nationalist Party and Alan pursuing the House, aided by a four-lawyer firm handling 12 cases. Sue Chorba ran for governor in Columbus, later became Adjutant General and helped organize a tornado drill as civil defense. Jane Watt and Sue Chorba competed in campaigns, with Sue named first alternate for Girls Nation and Jane running for Senate but losing. Survived by five sons Harlan Kenneth Robert James Wallace four daughters Arlene Gladys Eleanor Norma plus Bertha Bauman and many grandchildren. Services at Apostolic Christian Church with burial in church cemetery. An open hearing for the 1974 Rittman High School budget is set for Monday July 16 at 8 pm in the High School library prior to the School Board meeting. A copy of the budget will be on file at the clerk treasurer in 220 North First St.
