Mrs R D Wenger and Don Stepfield co chaired the Polio Drive announcing roughly 200 attended the Tuesday evening event at Rittman High School auditorium. Receipts totaled 173.37 with 43.79 from the Cako Wall. David Boyes, a two time winner, won the Sweetheart Cake presented by Mrs E C Burker. Sheri Hall and Marilyn Grieves won the Grand Finale cake by Mrs J J Williams. Rittman burglars bound over to Wayne County Grand Jury
Carl David Ross and Zane Mc Laughlin, both 19 and 22, bound over to the Wayne County Grand Jury after pleading guilty to burglary at the County Line Tavern on January 18. Bond set at 2000, they remain in the county jail. Ross is allegedly wanted in Tennessee and Florida for burglary and car theft. Mc Laughlin's wife gave birth to their first child the Friday before his apprehension.

Drunk Driving Penalties Filed In Local Courts
In Mayor John Baldwin Clinton Osburn’s court, he was charged with intoxication, fined 100 dollars plus costs, and given three days in jail. In Justice of the Peace Milton Hughes Jr.’s court, Fletcher Tack of Rittman pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, receiving the same penalty of 100 dollars and costs and three days in jail.

Friends of Library push for new city library site
The Friends of the Library discussed building a new library in Rittman as city hall space grows crowded. A major donor offered a large gift if a library could be built, and a committee urged the council to designate two lots south of City Hall as a potential site. Goodyear Club Restocks Area With Rabbits and Pheasants
Norris Keating and Goodyear Hunting and Fishing Club members released 53 dozen healthy rabbits Sunday as part of a restocking program that relies on area memberships. Rittasan Council Debates City Employee Age Limit
The Rittasan Council discussed a proposed ordinance barring full time city workers over 70 and police over 65. Some members wanted immediate effect, others preferred delays up to a year. City approves 108,661 budget and raises pay for staff
Rithman City Council passed a 108,661 annual appropriation ordinance for the coming year and approved pay raises for numerous city employees. Key changes include higher salaries for the street department, village engineer, marshal and deputies, custodian, clerk’s assistant, park custodian, water department head, and recreation director, with several roles becoming full time.
