The Rittman Band Mothers Club names Mrs. R. D. Wenger general chair for the Cake Walk to be held in the high school gym Monday evening February 21 1955. At the first 1955 meeting in the high school library twelve members attended and others will be contacted to participate. Mrs. John Walker thanked members for the Bake Sale success and TEPCo committee promoted reading habits with prizes for school children posters announcing the Cake Walk supervised by art director Miss Irene Bene.

Fifty three Cub Scouts and their Den Mothers from Rittman joined more than four thousand Akron area visitors at an open house held Saturday at the South Akron Freight Yards of the Pennsylvania Railroad off West Emerline. Cubs rode the turntable, toured a diesel locomotive, and observed cabooses and Pullman cars while crews explained wheel damage and wheel assembly fires.

Marines Prepare Large Scale Amphibious Exercise in Puerto Rico
Cpl Duskey and Lt Rittman of the 2nd Marine Division participate in a winter 1955 Atlantic Fleet exercise off Puerto Rico. From January to March Marines will drill with river assault equipment, then storm Vieques in a full amphibious attack with forces from Camp Lejeune and Miami. They will visit Puerto Rican cities and Caribbean islands during the operation.
