Fire Department Responds Twice to Weekend Blazes
The fire department answered two calls this week. On Tuesday afternoon they rushed to Front Street property owned by Mrs D R Niles and occupied by P A Heest, but carpenters' alterations kept the fire from spreading after a rapid response. Earlier in the week a blaze destroyed the Erle freight depot on Monday evening.

Albert Meyer Dies After Sudden Illness
Albert Meyer collapsed away from home and died before a doctor could arrive. He was found into the home of his brother Jacob Meyer where he resided. The death is believed to be due to apoplexy and no other details are available.
