Funeral for Scott Christian in West Virginia Today
Mrs. Scott Christian 68 died last night at home on S Main St. She had lived in Huntington for years after moving from Wayne County Virginia. Survived by husband J Scott Christian two sons Hermar Rittman and Hubert Creston four daughters L P Riggs C L Graham Huntington O J Blake Rittman and Blucher Finf Rittman. Body shipped to Huntington for burial at Christian Cemetery Wayne County after services at Greenmar Baptist Church Wayne.

Portable school out board weighs two classrooms plan
The Dobbs Evans Co Columbus and a state education official rejected a two room portable building to relieve crowding. The board will study remodeling the First Street building to create two extra classrooms. Florence of Akron drafted sketches and state inspector Baughman tentatively approved them. If plans gain approval this week, construction can start during the term. Engineer C G Krancher of the Ohio Boxboard Co. provided encouragement.

First 1946 Baby Nancy Maurer Born in Easton
Nancy Lou Maurer was welcomed as the first baby of 1946 in the Easton area. Her father Edward Maurer serves in the Pacific with the Army. she was born January 4 at Wadsworth Hospital to Mrs. Maurer and Dr Neiswander of Doylestown. The family has one other child. Mrs. Maurer may claim six gifts from Rittman merchants and a year's subscription to the Press per the December 27 issue.

Route 94 Crash Leaves Three Eagerly Injured
Mr and Mrs Beery suffered serious injuries after their car collided with another on Route 94 north of Rittman. Mrs Beery had a fractured arm a cracked jaw and dental injuries while Mr Beery endured severe facial and knee bruises. The other driver remained unconscious at Wadsworth hospital. Their daughter in the back seat was uninjured. A passing taxi and a mobile were also involved.

After flu illness he is back on the job this week, resuming the printing trade before the war. Townspeople and war veterans urged to attend a public meeting at City Hall next Monday five thirty p m to press for an aggressive housing program. The council approved Mayor Ritter signing the federal housing project application moving temporary housing into Rittman making the town among first to comply. The American Legion committee led by Boyd Miller and Roger Hessidence will promote veteran interests. Ken Osborne and C E Rhonemus work on financing angles and expect to present an answer at the meeting.

Council Approves 67 000 for Village Appointments
Mayor Melvin R. Ritter announced the year’s village staff appointments and salary actions. The council approved deputy marshal, city hall custodian, fire chief, street commissioner, sewage plant superintendent, cemetery chief, and reappointing G. H. Clippinger to a six year board term. They bought 152 street name signs for 419 and 50 cents each for 193. Engineer Lear ordered updated tracings and planned drainage improvements. Rhonemus rehired as solicitor at 480 annually. The panel urged aggressive housing action to attract veterans and sought non profit sponsorship for land and streets.
