Three Arts Club elects Ulm to lead for 1946

Mrs R W Kenneth Ulm of Akron will be president of the Three Arts club for the year starting September 1946 after officers were elected at the annual dinner meeting at Kaase's Restaurant in Akron Monday night. Other officers include Mrs Karl Gilman as vice president Miss Madeline Bixel as secretary treasurer and Miss Mary Ethel Cummings in charge of arrangements. The roll call prompt was My Most Embarrassing Moment. The next meeting will be at Mrs John Winkler's on February 4.

Catherine Felix Engaged to John Ramsier

Miss Catherine Felix daughter of Fred Felix of Wright sr is engaged to John Ramsier son of Mr and Mrs Joe Ramsier of Congress The couple plan a wedding in the future Felix is a senior at Rittman High School and Ramsier works for the Ohio Boxboard Co No wedding date has been announced.

Presbyterian Women Hear Book Review At Church

The Milton Presbyterian Ladies Auxiliary meets this afternoon at one o clock in the church parks. The program includes devotionals by Mrs L G DeVore a vocal solo by Miss Grace Wenger and a review of James Sterrt s novel The Gauntlet by Mrs Robert Karlen Luncheon and a business session led by president Mrs M R Ritter precede the program.

Women of Moose Accept Three New Members

Women of Moose met with 19 members and two guests. Applications for Viola Flath Mildred Goffinet and Myrtle Dull were approved and Flath welcomed into the defending circle. Dr Delia Bauer and Louise Landis of Barberton Lodge spoke. Sandwiches were served by Irma Boyle Ruth Goffinet January 5 and by Ida Collier Pauline Houston January 12. Next meeting January 23.

The community elected Baldwin Houser and Schumaker by clear margins to reform the 20 year administration. Schumaker’s replacement by Joseph Wald promises a change aligned with voter intent. Mayor Ritter Forms New City Council On Monday

Mayor Melvin R Ritter was sworn in by retiring mayor John W Baldwin and convened a council organization session at City Hall. He gave oaths to Al H Thomas and Ivan King, named Clarence Kunkler president pro tem, and announced committee chairs Ossbourne Ferrer Kunkler King Thomas Killough. A Sterling avenue oiling assessment correction was approved. Salaries for cemetery and custodian deputies were to be set at the next regular meeting.

The Milton Presbyterian Sunday School elected officers last Sunday including G. H. Clippinger as general superintendent Richard Milford as recording secretary C. S. Willow Brook Apartment Fire Totals Unit In Willow Brook

A government engineer and Charles Maine deputy state fire marshal inspect a Willow Brook two bedroom apartment gutted by a blaze last Thursday at 7 p m. Officials doubt wiring caused the fire which occurred while the occupants were away. Mr and Mrs Willard Gasser, their son and another couple occupied the unit and lost all belongings. Damage estimated at 1500 dollars.

School Board elects Reffert clerk and new members

Hol' Reffert of N Second St elected clerk and Joe Wald of N State St named fifth board member at the organization meeting. Jack Williams was chosen president and John Baldwin vice president. Budget set at 94000 for general funds with teacher salaries rising to 64000.

Clyde Kindig Named Water Board Clerk in Rittman

Clyde Kindig, principal of the First Street school building and summer recreation director of Rittman, was named water board clerk replacing Clayton Kunkler who resigned after about a year. Kindig began work this week collecting water tents at City Hall in the evenings. At the organization meeting A J Grant was elected chairman with Harold Brown as vice chairman and Fred DeMaria as the third member.

Boys' Village dream outlined for northeast Ohio

Rev. C. E. Kerr told the Rotary club a progress report on establishing a Boys Village for homeless and underprivileged youths. He announced incorporation, trustees to be formed, a 130 acre farm purchase between Smithville and Wooster, gifts received, and plans to draw wider contributions. Ashton Hall, ex-Rittman coach, visited. he has been discharged from the Army. Mr and Mrs Herman Baehr spent holiday time in Fremont Nebraska.
