Four-Summit Men Admit Creston Robbery

Four men from Summit County have confessed to the Ney Sth armed robbery of the W L Good sales barn in Creston. They are held in Summit County jail in Akron and include three from Barberton and one from Louisville. Their cases go before the Grand Jury.

Ink Co Branch Moves to Town in Consolidation

James McNamee announces Sinclair Valentine Co consolidates Cleveland and Rittman ink operations. Cleveland plant closed, machinery moved to enlarged quarters on Industrial St with complete install expected in two months. Rittman plant, serving northern Ohio, employs 12 now with planned staff growth. firm operates 35 similar plants nationwide.

Norwayne Senior Wins Gold at Oratory Meet in Youngstown

Eunice Beydler a Norwayne High senior won the gold medal at the Prince of Peace oratory contest in Youngstown. She will travel to Columbus on January 17 for the semi finals with a possible $200 prize and a four year scholarship if she advances to finals. Also competing was Virginia Wenger of Rittman High.

Baltimore Sailor Home On Leave From Med cruise

U S Navy seaman first class Thomas Sehaad of Baltimore arrived at his parents home after a Mediterranean cruise aboard the Monongahela. He left France September 17 and reached Baltimore October 25, receiving a December 29 leave for an indefinite period. He completed a 16 week course at Norfolk Naval School learning Morse code radio teletype and photo facsimile operations before being sent to Italy last June to rejoin shipmates.

Pfc Roy E Resecker Serves in Korea with 7th Division

Pfc Roy E Resecker, whose sister Mrs John W Bright resides Route 1 Rittman, serves with the 7th Infantry Division in Korea. The Bayonet Division continues a wide training program with realistic field problems and maneuvers. Resecker joined the Army in June 1954 and previously served with the 3rd Infantry Division's 65th Infantry Regiment as an aidman in Medical Company of the 17th Infantry Regiment.

Family Reunited After 14 Years in United States Arrival

Jordanese Student Visits Robinsons

Curtis Robinson and Abraham Muhawi of Jordan spent Christmas with the Robinson family. Muhawi, living about 15 miles from Bethlehem, spoke at the First Church of Christ on Jordanian customs, habits, and native dress. He studies electrical engineering on a Baldwin Wallace scholarship.

Death of Harold Lee in early New Year accident

Harold Lee 21 of Rittiman RD died when his car overturned on Rt 224 about 3 am New Year’s Day near LeRoy and Seville. His wife Ruth and two children survived, with parents Harvey and [name unclear] Lee of Tennessee and brother Richard Stanley of Spencer. Police said high speed may have been a factor. Services were held Tuesday at Seville, burial at Spencer.

Easton crash curve fence partly replaced by highway dept

The State Highway Department recently removed the most frequently hit section of fence along Easton’s crash curve in an effort to reduce injuries. Mystery Farm Contest Winners Named in Local Paper

Norma Jean Beery won the Christmas issue contest for identifying Kreider farm. Joe Zollinger of Rittman RD and Douglas Mougey of Third St in Rittman won the past week’s contest by correctly naming the Joe Grabow farm near Sterling. Winners received pairs of theatre stickers for the Diana Theatre, which will show first run films starting Sunday January 9.

Justice court records show traffic charges and penalties

Guy Baker was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and fined 100 dollars plus costs with 3 days in jail. Russell Zwercher faced reckless driving charges, fined 25 dollars plus costs, with a 15 day jail term suspended. Both cases appeared before Justice of the Peace Hurkes.

Dixie Hardgrove Named JA Delegate and Vice President

Miss Dixie Hardgrove was elected president of the Rittman Jr Achievers Association and named a delegate to the Mid-West Achievers Conference held in Teetectt Michigan. She also became one of Barberton’s three JA vice presidents while attending three local companies and gained insights on youth enterprise. Other officers include Ronnie Ridgeway as vice president Virginia Snyder as secretary and Jim Zimmerman as team leader.
