Gas Co Proposal Raises Local Gas Rates For 1941 45
The Ohio Fuel Gas Company presented a proposed rate ordinance for 1941 45 at the regular Rittman council meeting. If not approved April 13 a step up rate would take effect. Current rates date from 1936 and the utilities committee will study the proposal before the March 10 meeting.

East of Rittman Auto Accident Injures Three
Three people were injured in a two car crash on the Wandsworth Easton Road east of Rittman. Warren Head, Myron C Werntz, and a passenger suffered injuries. extensive damage occurred to Head’s car and Head’s daughter Jeanette required 32 stitches. Deputy Sheriff Glenn Rike investigated.

Draft Board No 2 received a call for 18 more men to be summoned on March 13 bringing the March total to 33 in the area. Five men depart March 1 and ten on March 4 with 15 names to be selected this week. Replacements for three February 12 rejections left Orrville for Cleveland. Ohio’s March draft target is 14 700 with 3 000 to be called between March 3 and 10. Eastern Wayne County including Rittman accounts for 64 inductees through March 4.
