School Board Approves Small Purchases Monday
Rittman board of education authorized several small purchases at the regular Monday night meeting. A three volume Webster’s unabridged dictionary was bought for $12 for use in English rooms. Jaws for a lathe in the manual training department were ordered after one jaw was lost and halted use. The board loaned the stage drop curtain to Sterling High for the operetta Tuesday night. Sterling herd owned by Kenneth Conrad in Sterling tops January dairy tests with 1106 pounds milk per cow and 45.3 fat percent. Fire destroys R White Theatre in LaRue Ohio
A fire at 2 a.m. destroyed seats, screen, and sound equipment in Ralph White's theatre in LaRue Ohio. Estimated damage is $25,000. The building also housed a library and lodge quarters. White, son of O L White of Rittman, believes projection equipment remained undamaged. Cause is unknown and rebuilding plans are uncertain.

Second Townsend Rally Scheduled At Wadsworth
A second Townsend Rally will be held at Wadsworth Sunday at 3 p.m. in the high school auditorium with guest speakers Charles A. Coakwell of Cleveland and J. R. Laritienne of Alliance.
