Albert Jones Named New Acme Manager in Rittman
Albert Jones of Rittman became the new manager of the Rittman Acme store this week. He has served as a clerk there for two and a half years, succeeding Nelson Hall who left to manage a Canton supermarket. James Steiner was hired as a clerk to assist Jones.

Eli Horn 72, of east of town, died Wednesday afternoon at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 30 p m at Doylestown. Friends may call at the home Friday evening.

Alma Wagner Hired for Rittman Third Grade Vacancy
Alma H Wagner of South Euclid Ohio was hired by the Rittman board Monday to fill the third grade post at the First Street Building. She has fourteen years teaching in New Britton Conn New York Cleveland Heights and Garfield Heights parochial schools and a Valpariso University BA. She arrives in Rittman Wednesday to start at 100 dollars a month, succeeding Charlotte Brown who resigned to marry this March. Mrs Foster Baker was named as temporary substitute. The district approved Brown’s resignation and eyed a 63 945 general fund for the Rittman schools. The meeting covered auditorium use delays rules revisions and a defense meeting at the high school Tuesday night. The board also bought athletic supplies and approved a mimeograph postponement and sent Garver to a national convention.

Rittman High Indians will play Millersburg at 7 15 p m on February 17 in Millersburg after a flu related postponement. Principal W H Hauenstein of the Central Buckeye League announced the new date. The Indians, preparing for a weekend twin bill, will also face Wooster General Friday and Seville Saturday on their home floor with Wade Milford returning from a sprained ankle.

The Rittman Indians defeated Orrville Red Riders 24 to 21 in Orrville marking their second league win and second win over the Riders. Demlow led with 11 points while Riggs had eight and Petkoff seven as Rittman closed the game strong in the fourth quarter. Students Named To Safety Patrol At High School
Eighteen Rittman School boys were installed as members of the Safety Patrol at a Wednesday ceremony in the high school auditorium. Robert Orr and Donald Beary were chosen roving captains. Carl Gordon Raymond Rohrer Eugene Harris named patrol members to ride buses and help children enter and leave school. Safety Director Charles D. Wibberts urged duties, mayor John Baldwin swore in the group, and a bicycle safety film followed. Patrol starts at noon and after school, duties begin early next week.

Mrs Ada Bennett 60 died when a northbound tractor truck struck the southbound Bennett car Thursday near Creston. Her daughter Dorothy 300 Beechwood Drive Akron was hospitalized with a broken leg and injuries. The Bennetts were en route to a vacation at Temee. the body was held at Creston awaiting arrangements.
