Father Of Local Women Is Dead
Charles A. Siders, 96, father of Mrs. Mabel Wright and Mrs. Flor rie Herman of Rittman, died Thursday in Wayne County Home where he had been a patient for five years. A Seville resident since age 16 and a retired farmer, he leaves a brother Ray of Burbank and daughters Mrs. Carrie Everhard, Lulu Gilmore, and Mrs. Mildred Cox, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Services were Sunday at Kindig Funeral Home, Seville, Rev. Albert Henry officiating. Burial was in Acme Lutheran Cemetery.

Fire Contract Brings Rittman Protection to Chippewa
Residents of Chippewa Township will gain Rittman fire protection within a week after a special council session approved an agreement. The contract, drawn after Sterling talks, charges $120 for a one hour call and covers land east of Rittman to Route 548, excluding Easton, with trustees to sign to activate it.

W Bassett Hurt 77 died Tuesday at Wadsworth Municipal Hospital after a short illness. Born in Kentucky he lived in Illinois 11 years before moving to Jordan Montana in 1917, then to Rittman Sterling area where he farmed and worked at local businesses. Survived by wife Nellie, son Maurice, daughter Lela Blackburn, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Services Friday 1:30 p.m. at Gillman Haines Funeral Home with burial in Rittman Cemetery. Dr. McLean and Brother Hanze to officiate. Friends may call Thursday 7–9 p.m.
