The Chamber of Commerce announces a Christmas home decoration contest held for the first time since the war. Cub Scouts Donate Food Baskets and Toys
Cub Scouts led by Mrs Richard O'Brian met in the Primary School basement rather than City Hall. They delivered two food baskets and one toy basket for needy families, with bread donated by Jamie Mills Bread Co. Plan Power Merger Early Next Year
Plans for merging the Ohio Public Service Company with Ohio Edison Company are expected early next year, says Walter H Sammis president of the latter. Benjamin Hammer Dies Sunday
Benjamin Hammer 7 of 18 Second Street died Sunday morning after a tal l day ago injury near Doylestown where he farmed until moving into the community. He lived in this district and is survived by Mable at home Mrs Ralph Kennedy of Battmany, Arnold of Wedsworth Frederik and Zachary of Mansfield, Earl of New York City, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Burial was at St Peter and Paul cemetery in Doylestown.

Accident on Ohio Ave Causes Fender Benders
Two cars collided at the corner of Senecast and Ohio Avenue this week involving Chad Vup and Herbert Smith. Artrip claimed he planned to turn into Senecast when Smith rear ended him. Smith said he saw a signal and acted correctly. Both vehicles were insured and police did not detain either driver.

Wim H Conrad 79 died Wednesday morning at Wooter Hospital after a lingering illness. He was born near Orrville and lived in Rittman 37 years. He worked at Ohio Salt Co. Survivors include son Henry Cline of Barberton, sisters Mrs Sarah Kondig and Mrs Ida Has ter of Akron, Mrs Emma Kindiz of Barberton, brother Charles of Barberton, and four grandchildren. Funeral Friday at 2:00 pm at Gillmen Funeral Home with Rev Albert Hees officiating. burial at Battnian Cemetery.
