Band seeks donations for new uniforms this Saturday
Rittman band members hold a final drive for funds with a 1958 car raffle on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will canvass homes to sell tickets, with the drawing during intermission of the Rittman-Norwayne basketball game. Proceeds fund next season uniforms. winner not required to be present. A 17 inch portable TV will also be given away at the game.

Post office handles 30,000 letters as holiday rush grows
Christmas mail flows through the local post office with 30,000 letters processed on Monday, plus thousands more from out of town. Area churches announce Christmas services beginning this Sunday with morning and evening events. Milton Presbyterian Church hosts a 10 30 morning service with choir numbers and a Christmas message, plus a 7pm program and 8 15pm fellowship carols. A Christmas Eve Communion at 9pm will include scripture, carols, and the Lord's Supper. Mother of Press foreman succumbs in Milan
Mrs Frank A Day, 78, mother of Ivan Day and longtime Milan Ledger publisher since her husband’s death in 1931, died Wednesday at Maumee. Funeral at 2 p.m. Friday at Rawle Funeral Home Milan. Survived by four sons Ivan Wadsworth K Ross Victor Malcolm, five grandchildren and two brothers.

Father of local woman succumbs
Services were held Wednesday for Lawrence J. Snyder 76, father of Mrs Robert Wenger of Barberton. A longtime Barberton resident, he retired from Ric-Wil Co. six months ago after 16 years. Survived by wife Addie, son William of Barberton, and four grandchildren. Rev William Hodder officiated. interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
