Community Christmas Party Planned by Rittman Fire Dept
The Rittman Fire Department hosts an annual Christmas Party for local children Friday December 17 at 7 p.m. Santa will distribute goodie boxes. Sponsored by the Fire Department Alcoholics Anonymous and the Chamber of Commerce. The Ladies Auxiliary still collects toys with drop-off at the fire station that evening.

Michael Wood Killed in Hunting Mishap
Michael R. Wood 23 died after a brother in law’s shotgun discharged as they crossed a fence while hunting in Chippewa Township near County Road 5 A in Wayne County. A 1972 Doylestown graduate, he played bass and sang for the Wood Brothers and worked at Apple Creek State Institute. Surviving are his wife Dale two infant children his parents Homer and wife three sisters and a brother, all of Rittman. Funeral was held in Doylestown at Monbarren Funeral Home.

Cost Per Student Itemized In Rittman School Report
The Rittman Exempted Village School District released its first annual report for 1975-76 detailing cost per student at 1074.06 dollars. Funding came from 54.9 percent local taxes, 41.9 percent state aid, and 3.5 percent federal and other sources, plus an additional 129.35 dollars per pupil for bond payments and equipment. The district lists 78 classroom teachers, nine special resource teachers, and 96 administrative and pupil personnel staff among the workforce.

Mayor Ashton Hall fined Terry R. Bellamy of Rittman 85 dollars plus 24 in costs for two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of unsafe vehicle. Shirley A. Ashbrook and Darrel P. Justice, both of Rittman, forfeited 20 and 40 respectively for speeding. Henry L. Moser of Rittman received a suspended 20 dollar fine and 10 in costs for a right-of-way charge. John S.
