The village council approved a plan to open a new parking lot off S Main Street. Armand Goffinet offered his lot if the village fixed it up with entrances at Goffinet's Brenneman's Grocery and the Moose Lodge. The solicitor and village engineer were authorized to prepare papers and seek an exit to Murdoch Street later.

Rittman to Lease 1120 Bleachers from Derby Downs
The Rittman Athletic Association plans to rent bleachers seating 1120 spectators from Derby Downs Akron at 200 dollars per 1000 seats plus transport and insurance. Installation on the west side of the field aims to ease crowding for the first home game. Some existing stands will be moved to ends. Exact move date is undecided. Bleachers will also be used at a forthcoming swimming meet in Cuyahoga Falls.

New Fayette Inc Truck Body Plant Planned for Rittman
Walter Fahey announces Fayette Inc will establish a truck body plant east of Rittman in a leased Owen Landis building. The plant will use a plywood center aluminum laminated material claimed to be as strong as steel yet lighter and non rusting. Reunions and Picnics At Rittman Park Schedule
The Rittman park plans two weeks of reunions and picnics at the large pavilion with events on August 29 30 September 1 2 4 and 6 including Hartzler Rich First Church of Christ National Council of Catholic Women Willing Workers Bodager and Reuhlen reunions. Return home Saturday from trip to Europe

51 Freight Cars Wrecked in Streamlined B&O Derailment
Fifty-one cars loaded with mixed merchandise derailed near Lod on the B&O line at 5 am Sunday. Eleven cars were completely destroyed by flames after a rail on the east-west track broke as the 29th car passed the control tower.
