Murder charge filed in Adkins case with grand jury September
Verlin E Adkins faces a first degree murder charge in the death of Birdie Gillette who was found suffocated in her Rittman apartment. Prosecutor Critchfield bound Adkins over to the Wayne County Grand Jury which convenes in September. coroner Adair confirmed suffocation as cause.
