Heber H Hunt 86 of 48 North Seneca Street died Aug 18 at Wayne County Hospital after a lingering illness. Born in Barnesville Ohio he lived in Bethesda before moving to Bittman 19 years ago. Survived by one son Heber J Hunt of Rittman three daughters Mae Mead Grace Davis Helen Baker nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Raid Frees Disorderly House In Rittman Ohio Police Net Ten
Rittman police conducted an early Friday raid at 141 East Ohio Avenue and arrested four women aged 15 to 21 and six men aged 18 to 24. Three sisters were among the arrestees, with one girl receiving a 30 day jail sentence as probation trouble persists. Several others were fined or questioned as officers described months of surveillance and heavy traffic around the disorderly residence.

Mann Officially Named First City Manager at $6600 Salary
Charles Mann is named Rittman's first City Manager at a $6600 salary pending council approval reported last week. He attended Wooster schools, graduated Wooster High School in 1952, earned a BA in 1957 and MS in geology from the College of Wooster and University of Tennessee. Mann, married Judith Young, has two children Denise Lynn and Kenneth Charles. He has worked as field geologist for Standard Oil and served as village inspector before becoming administrative assistant January 1. Council discussed allotment work by Russell Frey and studied sidewalks on Metzger Avenue and Route 94 safety measures. The council passed an ordinance hiring four school patrolmen at $1 per hour.

Collier Grand Prize Winner at Homecoming
James Collier Sr. of Wadsworth won the 1960 Falcon at the Rittman Homecoming held last Saturday. The ticket was sold by Jim Trogdon of Freed Ford. Collier, 73, is the father of James Collier of Woodlane Avenue, Rittman. Other winners included Mrs. Dean Yoder Kent and multiple residents of Rittman for various prizes. Final four day financials will take at least a week to determine, said chairman Ron Goodhart.

Mrs Goffinet to be buried Saturday at St Anns
Mrs Eliza Goffinet 77 of 169 North First Street will be buried Saturday after a requiem mass at St Anns Catholic Church. She died Thursday at Wadsworth Municipal Hospital after a short illness. Burial is in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, with Fr Dennis Farr officiating. She married Charles in 1904 and was active in St Anns Church and related groups. She is survived by her husband, two brothers, and several nieces and nephews.
