Board Postpones School Levy Until Next Year
Rittman voters will not be asked to approve a school operating levy this year the board announced. The levy issue is delayed until 1961 while real estate revaluations by the County Auditor raise valuations about 25 percent. Higher valuations mean higher taxes next year, though millage in 10 mill zones may rise less.

Treatment Plant Receives Preliminary State Approval
The Board of Public Affairs announced preliminary state approval for enlarging Doylestown's sewage treatment plant. Engineer Jack Cunningham approved the blueprints for a 300 000 gallon facility with minor changes and bids are expected in about two months. Contracts should be awarded by December 1. The water plant has been surveyed and staked and an extension of the sewage permit due September 15 will be requested.

Accident Victims Still In Hospital After Fatality Near Sterling
Alvin Nieman of Grandview Blvd. has returned to work after an accident that killed James Snodgrass of 237 North Seneca Street near Sterling. Alan Joel Nieman, 6, remains hospitalized in Akron for about a month. Eugene Pamer, 22, of Burbank, is in City Hospital with injuries. Burial was in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, last Wednesday.

Fine Two Drivers After Cars Collide
Two Rittman drivers, 18, were fined in Mayors Court after a collision at Sterling Avenue and Grandview Boulevard on Friday. Albert Carl Krahenbuhl paid 29.50 for failing to yield the right of way and Dennis Bodager paid 19.50 for speeding. Damage occurred to both vehicles but no injuries were reported.

Charles Mann, 26, Administrative Assistant to the Mayor and Board of Public Affairs, is expected to be named Rittman city manager at Monday night’s regular council session. The selection committee, after reviewing 10 applicants, recommended Mann. Salary up to 7000 dollars. Mann has worked for the city since 1959 in roles including paying inspector for street projects.
