Apple Festival Queen Nominations Open in Rittman
The Three Arts Club invites Rittman residents aged 16 to 116 to nominate candidates for the Apple O' My Eye Contest. Noms must be residents of Rittman and forms are due August 20. A tea for contestants and escorts is August 22 at 2 to 4 p.m. in the Chippewa Valley Bank Community Room. The Queen is crowned August 26 at 7 30 p.m. and will act as a goodwill ambassador for the four festival days. Rittman plans a full Apple Festival schedule with the Bicentennial Chorus and Orchestra performing I Love America at 7 30 p m on Saturday August 28. Co directors Chris Hall and Lloyd Shankland announce other features including a parade at noon, Queen coronation, and evening entertainment by Mr B Duffield The Wood Brothers and more. Lions Club Barbecue Festival Slated with 50 Entrants
The Lions Club Festival features over 50 entrants and 1000 attendees from Tallmadge Bolivar and Washington DC. At 1 30 pm Saturday a pet parade runs on festival grounds. An industrial tent holds 20 exhibitors across 240 feet. Seven games, six food groups, and rides complete the event. Advance ride tickets go on sale at half price from community groups and local stores until 4 30 pm Thursday August 26.

Booster Club Drive Goes Door to Door in Rittman
The Rittman All-Sports Booster Club kicks off its annual fund drive tomorrow the 19th and Friday the 20th. Junior and Senior High students will canvass every street from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Since 1947 the club has funded bleachers, equipment, uniforms, lights, and awards. Regular membership is $2 and Patron is $5.
