Apple Festival Activities Begin This Thursday
The Apple Festival opens at 6 p.m. Thursday August 26 and runs through Sunday August 29 with varied events. Parade forms Saturday at 10 30 a.m. on Industrial Street and travels to Sunset and the festival grounds. The parade features over 50 entries including guards floats bands and political candidates. Parade marshal is Barbara Ramaier 1975 Citizen of the Year and judges include Joan Hartzler Mayor Hall and city Manager Moedt. Twenty exhibitors occupy 240 percent of Industrial tent space. seven game booths operate in the game tent. Food tents offer Swiss Blisses apple products ice cream pies and beverages. Special events include crowning the Festival Queen Thursday 7 30 p.m. and a 1 30 p.m. Saturday Pet Parade. Rides are provided by Sunny Amusements. Advance ride tickets are half price before opening. Festival sponsors include five organizations and local businesses. The 76 Festival Committee lists Lois Retana Rae Knapic Dolores Franks and others from Deltas Three Arts Firefighters Chamber of Commerce Rotary and other groups.
