Weather forecast issued by the U S Weather Bureau predicts showers on Wednesday followed by fair weather for several days, then more showers toward the end of the week. Moderate temperatures expected.
The Busy Bee class met at Miss Ethel Rahey's home for a business session. The vice president, secretary, and treasurer reported on the last meeting and quarter. Roll call featured Scripture verses and the class song. Committees, questions, and new business followed. they closed with a verse of America and the Lord's Prayer and adjourned. Mrs Rahey thanked for the excellent time. President Ethel Rabey.
The Hall and Summers present a wet and dry debate at Smithville Chautauqua Grounds on Saturday August 21 at 7:30 p.m. The event is billed as the season’s greatest hit and the final appearance in Wayne County with good vocal and instrumental music. Admission is free with an offering collected.
The Onera House presents a twelve part series "Who Pays" with three part melodramas each Sunday. Highlights include "Diamonds from the Sky" starting August 25 and a program featuring Mary and Lottie Pickford and famed director D W Griffith with "The Escape" starring Blanche Sweet Mae Marsh Owen Moore and Ralph Lewis. The lineup promises moral education amid profits and resumption of Sunday shows.
Judge McElroy last week let a contract to Berehler and Gigandet for a modern Ave room house with kitchen basement to be built on paradise Tl just west of town on Steins avenue and is to be completed with three walls. The judge will remain in town until his three daughters finish their course at Kitman schools.
Churchgoers are urged that regular attendance brings material and social benefits. The message claims employees, merchants, doctors, lawyers, and all professionals gain trust and improved prospects by going to church, with spiritual rewards noted as well.
The August 2 1915 bulletin from the U S Department of Agriculture Weather Bureau notes unusually cool temperatures and persistent rain across Ohio in July. Many counties saw over normal rainfall, with several 24 hour totals exceeding 2.5 inches. Harvesting suffered as crops and hay were damaged by wet ground, wind, and hail while corn and pastures fared better.
A Baker home on Salt street celebrated its golden wedding on June 1 as Mr and Mrs John Baker marked 50 years of marriage. A visitor brought them a baby doll from a carnival display, which they treated as a beloved new possession for the veteran couple, amid fond cheers.

In Police Court Judge McElroy handled two sentences. George Kamiskey pleaded guilty to intoxication and received a $500 fine plus costs. The State of Ohio versus Mike Povich ended with a guilty verdict, a $2,500 fine plus costs, and 30 days in the Canton workhouse. Marshal Schorger escorted him to Canton Friday.
August 10 birth to Mr and Mrs L J Kindig in Akron yields a baby boy.
County funds receive 31 508 10 and 8 816 64 for various purposes from a 92 868 97 general county fund distribution. Saloons contribute 3 691 80 in tax with allocations to county poor fund state and towns, suggesting Rittman would gain about 1 500 yearly from this source.
Waste county offers three entries for Free State Fair trips with selection described as Hopkins Choice. The Department of Agriculture notes district superintendents were asked in May to enter more boys to create a livelier contest but produced no results.

The council met Monday evening with the junior clerk and foreman present and adjourned to Monday evening. On November 23rd councilmen plan to meet the budget commission and hold a council session immediately afterward.
The third annual Band Carnival will be held in Rittman City Park on Saturday evening August 2. Four bands will participate including Lyfeston, Sterling, Rittman, and the famous Hobo Band. Come to Rittman for good music and a big time.
The Doylestown team defeated Rittman 8 to 2 in a Sunday game. Lefty’s early wildness and a few errors helped the win, with six hits against Helm and eight against Shafer. Wenger contributed two of the three doubles. Wadsworth remains the next pitcher.
