Harold Livesey Dies in Tragic Train Incident

Harold Livesey 33, a bricklayer and musician from Madison Wisconsin, died in an accidental train incident near a Wisconsin city. His father brought the body home for interment, and friends recall a bright, generous man tempered by troubling influences after leaving home at twenty.

Carnival Week Opens in Rittman As Train Arrives

A Carnival company rolled into Rittman with 150 personnel, two passenger coaches, four baggage cars, and a 20 to 25 piece Valles Italian band. Tents were pitched south of the B & railroad tracks on Main street. Monday crowds saw above average attractions and a well received sacred concert. The show runs all week with matinee and evening performances.

The Chicago City Gardens Association promotes urban farming by using vacant city spaces for the poor and unemployed. Each year about 400 eighth acre plots are allotted to families in need, guiding them to practical farming, financial return, and eventual move to broader truck farming opportunities.
