Ohio Public Service Company completes a 50 000 rebuilding phase to serve Rittman District for a decade. Rittman’s summer recreation program will cap with a large all event field day set for August 27 at the recreation field. The afternoon and evening program includes bike and foot races boxing model airplane flights and other sports with prizes for all ages and a fireworks display. Everyone is invited to attend.

Booster auction date set for Rittman athletics fundraiser
The Booster club selects August 25 for a fund raising auction at 7 p.m. behind the N Main school with Myron Steiner as auctioneer. Donations are coming in but more material is needed and donors are asked to return donation cards or contact committee members. Last year the event raised 257 dollars. this year aims for a new record to finish the football field refreshment stand.

City council approves state road rules and street plans
The council voted to follow state parking rules on Main Street with parallel parking above the B & O tracks and no parking below. They ordered water lines and storm sewers on Hillcrester and Woodland avenues and appointed an assessment committee for street improvements. School opening announced for September 6 with detailed student reentry plans. A Rittman pool project was proposed with a $100,000 estimate and a committee was formed to study it.
