City Council to consider ban on parking on South Main Street
State highway department requests abolition of parking on both sides from the corporate line to Grant Street. A omnibus ordinance is to be considered next Monday alongside bids for repaving, with costs estimated at 17 000 to 18 000 dollars and city share of one third. AFIL Retains Union Status in Boxboard Plant Vote
The A F L union won 668 of 1071 votes at the Ohio Boxboard plant, keeping 1301 eligible workers under its bargaining agent. The CIO United Paper Workers took 391 votes, 12 ballots favored no union, while the NLRB allows a possible challenge by CIO. The AFL I B P M W has led the plant since its founding.

Santa Monica girl tours Midwest by bus alone
Genevieve Nottingham an 11 year old from Santa Monica California rode a bus from Rittman to Canton with stops in Salt Lake City Denver and Chicago. She traveled four days solo to visit cousins in Orrville and Canton, saying the trip was fun and that she preferred bus travel because no personal interview was needed. A kindly elderly woman accompanied her for part of the journey and a driver kept them singing. Her next trip is home, again solo.
