Services were held Tuesday at St Ann's Church for Mrs. Drusilla E Brodbeck 80 of 49 Grant Street who died Sunday at Apple Creek Hospital after a long illness. She was a lifelong Rittman resident born in Chippewa Township and a member of St Ann's Catholic Church. Survived by daughter Josephine Kilkinson of Rittman two sons Donald of Rittman and Mervin of Wooster RD two brothers Forrest Kindig of Rittman and Lewelleyn of Akron six grandchildren two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Burial was in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery Doylestown with Rev Fr Dennis Farr officiating Gillman-Haines Funeral Home in charge.

Two-car crash injures four in rural intersection collision
At 7 25 am Thursday August 9 a two car crash at County roads 60 and 70 north of Sterling injured four area residents. Bruce Wertz 20 of Rittman drove one car and failed to stop, hitting Woodrow Grossenbach 49 of RR 1 Seville. Wertz suffered lacerations abrasions and possible back injury. Passengers Bruce Gordon 18 Seville and Larry Armentrout 18 Creston sustained lacerations. Grossenbacher alone sustained body abrasions and both cars were heavily damaged.
