Delegates from nine Aeries in Ohio District No. 11 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles will meet August 12 at Wadsworth Aeries No. 2117 for a patriotic Victory Meeting. President Norris Keating announced a business session, rally, and scrap drive led by members. Key speaker Jimmy Walker will describe war front work and Eagles support. District director Herb Saunders and district chairman George Tompko lead the session with Aeries from Kent, Cuyahoga Falls, Barberton, Ravenna, Medina, South Akron, East Akron, Akron 555 and Wadsworth.

Stratosphere Weather Recorder Found Near Toledo
An aerial weather recorder from Toledo Airport was turned in at the Rittman post office by Sir Charles Hawkins on Tuesday. The instrument was carried 12 miles into the sub stratosphere by a balloon and dropped after the burst with a pink parachute. Instructions urged returning the instrument to an airport post office or rural mail carrier for forwarding to Washington for reuse.

Boy Scout Troop 405 Captures Camp Honors At Manatec
Boy Scout Troop 405 sponsored by the Rotary club and American Legion earned multiple awards at Camp Manatec. All 14 boys received Good Camper honors and the troop led in two dawn bird hikes and two star gazing parties under Scoutmaster Harry Bedford. They won three of five inspections among 200 campers and earned Manatec Brave citations for high performance. Grant Slater Ritter passed swimming merit badge tests. three Scouts earned Good Camper recognitions. A double-header softball challenge against an American League team ended 11-8 and 10-6, with Vernon Phillips directing the lawn mower outfield stunt at recreation field last Wednesday night.
