A Koh Spice family woke to a burglary Tuesday night with a slit screen door and a break-in staged to grab a pocketbook and a ring. The thieves ransacked the lower cupboards then fled, leaving a tied swing in front of the door. No arrests yet, but a clue is said to exist.
American Legion members are asked to attend memorial services in the park on Friday afternoon August 6. The notice calls all members of Howard A Bair post No 2 for regional observances.
Rumor says an outside party with milliner experience plans a new up to date millinery store in Rittman aiming to open soon and compete with existing shops.
A medicine show titled Qua Lax remedies is performing this week in town on the lot next to the old bank building. A large number of local folk have attended, with a free outdoor show offered each night to visitors and residents.
Democrats invited to assemble a municipal ticket for Tiéra in the faN election. A meeting is set at the office of Attorney Hoover next Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock.
John Stuckey of Wadsworth was killed and his wife seriously injured when their car overturned on the Wadsworth Akron road near Royal Gak. The crash occurred about 4 30 as fogbound conditions likely caused a misjudged curve. the vehicle rolled twice and was described as a complete wreck.
George Glessner died Sunday after a five to six month illness at his Sterling home. Age 49, he had been a long time freight agent in Sterling. He leaves a wife and two children, sister Mrs O R Lance, brother Clem Glessner of Sterling, and brother Billy in Creston. Interment was in Seville cemetery Tuesday.

The Pythian Sisters express sincere thanks to all who volunteered services to prepare the square for the carnival street dance. Inclement weather halted the plans though everything was ready aside from the weather.

They travel toward a camp between Kent and Ravenna for ten days of fishing swimming boating and outdoor work with daily meals and division supervisors. A correction notes that the $602 given to Mrs. Anna Turner by the Ohio Boxboard Co. for her husband’s death was not an annual allowance. The word annual appeared by mistake and would misstate the amount if reported as such.
Rittman defeats Orrville 10 to 3 marking the second win over the railroad town this season. Orrville showed no real threat as a large Rittman contingent cheered the easy victory in a festive atmosphere.
