Child Abuse Charges Filed Against Rittman Parents
Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Steve Knowling filed child abuse charges Friday against Dennis and Susan Grisola of 23 Grant Street Rittman for the death of seven week old Paul Mark. Medina County Coroner Dr. Andrew Carson ruled the cause of death as aspiration after the infant vomited and inhaled fluids. police reports noted substantial bruises on the child’s back.

Wadsworth Approves Bond for National Metal Abrasives Plant
The Wadsworth city council approved a $1 million industrial revenue bond to lure National Metal Abrasives Co to the old Wadsworth Foundry, a subsidiary of Product Experts Inc of Cleveland. The plan will add 25 to 40 jobs, ending a six month effort, with McDonald and Co as bond placement agent.

Wayne County health officials expect swine flu vaccine to reach Ohio by late September with a staged rollout starting October 1. City Hires Counsel For Rittman Labor Talks
The city of Rittman hires Lincoln Oviatt of Wooster to handle contract negotiations with the Rittman Employees Association. Oviatt, with Critchfield firm since 1956, will negotiate with REA and meet with City Manager Larry Moedt, City Solicitor Carl Bradford, and REA’s Thomas Palecek. An ordinance passed July 13, 1976, to allow a special counsel for the city end of talks.
