Junior boxing tourney may be staged in Rittman

The Rittman recreation committee plans a junior boxing tournament led by Rev W F Echols. Boys currently box Tuesday evenings under the committee program. They hope to raise interest with a tournament and possibly form an inter-city league with nearby towns. Preliminary bouts will pair participants and matches move from the high school gym to outdoor under lights in good weather.

Immorality and other fines set in Rittman police cases

Clarence Ward was fined 100 dollars and costs for immoral conduct before Mayor Melvin Ritter. Paul Ingold paid 20 dollars and costs for intoxication. Melle Ward faced 75 dollars for a watch and bracelet theft plus costs. James Wilson fined 50 dollars and costs for resisting an officer. An assault and battery charge carried 25 dollars and costs. John Maine payable 4.50 for obstructing traffic. Elizabeth Fitch fined 100 dollars and costs. Bertha Smith were fined 9.10 for failing to send her son to school before Justice Bertha Sherrick.

Al Geitgey's southern tour highlights Mammoth Cave and mountains

Rittman Schools Present Three Musical Programs

The Music department invites parents to three programs over the next weeks. On Wednesday April 28 at 2 pm grades 1 2 3 perform at the high school auditorium with free admission. May Festival on May 4 or 6 at 7 pm at the athletic field costs 25 and 40 cents and includes May Queen crowning. On Friday May 14 at 7 30 pm grades 4 8 perform at the high school auditorium with free admission. Miss Donna Jeanne Gault plans and directs all programs.

National Honor Society Entertained By Lions Club

National Honor Society members of Rittman High school were dinner guests of the Lions club Monday evening. Speaker was Lee Culp director of admissions for Wooster College. Mr Culp stated in his talk that NHS members would be given priority to enter Wooster College.
