Band Calendar drives through May 7 in Rittman plans
The Band Boosters sell stainless knives for 1.10 to fund the band. Students and families are reminded to place birthdays on the band calendar. Annual Egg Hunt On Saturday In Rittman Ohio
The Rittman Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 21 at 2 pm in Central Park on First Street. Children ages 2 to 10 are invited. The park will be divided into three age groups 1 to 4 5 to 7 and 8 to 10. The event is co sponsored by the Rittman Loyal Order of Moose with the Firemen's Auxiliary coloring the eggs and some prizes colored golden to determine winners.

David Creson Dies Suddenly at 16
David Creson aged 16, son of Mr and Mrs William Creson formerly of Rittman, died April 10 from spinal meningitis. A memorial fund is set up with Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is survived by his brother Bill and sisters Melinda, Nancy and A er. He had worked as a production manager for Packaging Corporation of America while living in Rittman.

Rotary Speaker Beats King Tut Curse in Rittman
86 year old Dr. Frank McClennahan, medical missionary in Egypt in 1922, told the Rittman Rotary that he does not believe in magic. He recalled Tutankhamun’s tomb opening, Carter’s find at Luxor, and the gold-filled burial chamber as the official party prepared to break the seal.

Night Service Begins May at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital
Long sought night emergency medical service becomes reality at Wadsworth Rittman Hospital after a Monday announcement by retiring Board President Carl Bradford. A doctor will be on duty ten hours nightly seven days a week starting May 1, likely 6 pm to 4 am, with hours set by the Board. The service adds to existing on call setup and backups. The contract covers life saving readiness until regular physicians arrive. Additional proposals include a group of physical therapists to supervise the department. Other enhancements include inhalation therapy, a heart-attack friendly ICU, and laparoscopic observation. Retiring Board members Bradford and secretary Mrs Sophia Prentovich are highlighted as part of a fruitful year. Nominations include Allan Broadhurst, Dr David Wearstler, Don Houglan, and Arthur Gillman recommended for city council appointments. Community Plans for Rittman Consider Update
City Hall hosted an open meeting where Bob Hill of Dalton, Little and Newport outlined how a consulting firm could guide Rittman’s ten year old plan. Hill, speaking for Dennis Larkin, described a Cleveland based firm with Ohio offices and 300 employees offering ecology, urban development and financial planning expertise to deliver a continuous comprehensive study for the city. He urged updating the Vogt Ivers and Associates plan from 1963 to reflect growth and municipal needs.
