Effie J. Myers Scott Floyd of Emmons township married twice in one day after brief divorces and licenses. She first wed Lin Scott on May 24 1919 at about age 14 and obtained a divorce on statutory grounds then remarried George W. Floyd within about 45 minutes at the same courthouse aided by a local deputy clerk. The groom and witnesses secured medical and license documents before a rapid ceremony and departure for home.
