County smallpox figures prompt county health report

Dr. W. M. Jones, Guilford County health superintendent, says quarantining all smallpox cases in the county in the past month would cost 1,280 dollars. So far 12 dollars have been spent for food. There are 32 active cases, with only three reported, attributed to patient non reporting. All patients are negroes in the same area, and officials find the spread slower than expected. Jones recommends further action.
