West Plains Oil company plans to drill to 5200 feet near the West Plains post office with 1062 resuming operations. Bury Transient Killed by Train in Sidney
Funeral services for John Ackerman a 52 year old transient killed under a Burlington freight train on October 17 were held at Gehrig Funeral Home. Interment was in Sidney Greenwood cemetery. Identification came from photos, Bridgeport acquaintances, and Special Agent Patterson. Fingerprints were taken for confirmation. The body was found cut in two, after a northbound freight sighting, with a southbound train suspected in the incident.
