Sicney Telegraph Roger Francis ten year old son of Mr and Mrs Vince Francis sustained severe head injuries Friday noon after tumbling from a high tree branch in the city park. His left eardrum ruptured two teeth broken and chin lacerated. X rays at Taylor hospital ruled out a fractured skull. Roger and friend Stanley Livoni were climbing trees when the accident occurred. A nearby tourist saw the fall.

August Morrow, longtime Arnold farmer, dies the county’s oldest
August Morrow, born in Pennsylvania and enlisted in 1862, celebrated his ¢&th birthday June 8 at his Arnold home. The oldest man in Custer county and sole survivor of the Arnold G A R post, he came from Illinois to Nebraska in 1884 and still runs his original homestead, tending the farm, chores, and wood chopping.

Cave-in Crushed Workman at Sidney Gravel Pit
R H Starr of Olson Construction was injured when a 40 ton slide toppled onto a wheelbarrow he had paused to move.
