Peaceful passing of Jacob Jung Passe at 75 in Sidney
Jacob Jung Passe, 75, died Wednesday evening at a Sidney hospital after a brief illness. A German immigrant born September 17, 1863, he lived in Potter area, moved to Cheyenne County in 1932, and is survived by six children and many grandchildren. Funeral services tentatively set for January 14 at Rice Funeral Home and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Boehnke officiating. Interment in church cemetery.

Iverson Nielsen Wed At Sidney In January Nineteen Thirty Nine
Thomas Iverson of Potter and Clara Nielsen of Litchfield Nebraska were united in marriage January 6 1939 by county judge Robert A Barlow at Sidney. Iverson is a long-time resident and World War II veteran serving as an engineer at the city light plant. Nielsen moved from Litchfield several months ago and has made many friends as she worked locally. Both families wish the couple happiness.

Fred R. Lindberg aged 72 died at his Bridgeport home after several months illness. He came from Sweden with his parents, homesteaded in Nebraska, and rose from range rider to ranch owner and banker. A founder of Bridgeport State Bank, he served on Morrill County Board for over two decades and held irrigation interests in the North Platte valley. Surviving are his widow and a son.

Norma Musil was absent three days last week while visiting relatives in the eastern part of the state. The history class studied Benjamin Franklin for a Thrift Unit, exploring his life and discoveries. The language class learned to write quotations and enjoyed a cipher-down last week. Cynthia Ann Reetz stood longest. Twenty of the 24 students earned one hundred percent for spelling. The class expressed enjoyment of vacation and hope the second semester will be profitable. School music department extends New Year greetings
The music department extends greetings to patrons and friends and aims to make the program stronger. High school glee clubs begin work on an operetta to be presented February first, replacing the Jambo reels from the past two years. They shovel snow, assist school bus drivers and mail carriers, gravel streets, burn weeds, and dig or clean drainage ditches.
