Cloudburst scale rain swept the region with 0.45 inches at Potter on Sunday and 0.75 inches Monday. Range near five miles east logged 0.65 Sunday and 1.65 inches Monday, causing flooded roads, washed fences, and waterlogged pastures. The storm moved from Potter west to east, with lighter rain toward Sidney and Brownson, and reports of high waters extending into Colorado. While crops may benefit, many farms outside the rain bands still seek a general, area-wide rainfall.

They accepted a detail proposal from Wacob-Bender Corp to issue bonds serially at 3 percent interest with optional issuance later, and authorized the chairman and clerk to sign the contract. Railroad payroll flood carves busy Potter bank day
About 350 railroad workers cashed pay checks at a Potter bank on Wednesday and Thursday. Bank clerks processed 250 checks totaling $5,500 with 100 more awaiting cashing. The post office issued 72 money orders near $1,600 as the community stayed open late to serve the workers.

Village Board Moves to Refinance Bonds at 3 Percent
At a special meeting the town board approved refinancing its 66 000 bond issue with Wachob Bender of Omaha to cut interest from 4 percent to 3 percent, saving about 15000 over twenty years.
