Five Hurt In PH Fires Losses Reach Thirteen Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty

Four Cincinnati Fire Department members and one business employee were injured in Price Hill fires over the past week. Two fires caused about 13 750 in losses, including a 10 000 home blaze on Chateau Avenue and a 3 750 Sears store fire on Glenway Avenue. Firefighters treated for burns and smoke exposure, with evacuations and medical care at local hospitals.

Udry Gets Jobs For Oak Hills Jr Hi Lockers

Udry Construction Co. will unofficially start locker room additions at Delhi and Bridgetown junior high schools in the Oak Hills district. The board will formalize the $8,000 lower bid at the June 16 meeting, with work beginning a week early to finish before fall classes. The delay stemmed from rejecting the first bids April 22 and taking a May 22 second round. Memorial Day events followed, including the Rifle Squad salute at St Joseph Cemetery and services sponsored by Budde Post American Legion.

Western Hills High names three year record-matcher duo

Ron Dieckmann and Barbara Luecke named as All Round Boy and All Round Girl for the 1968 69 class at Western Hills High School. Both maintain perfect 4.0 averages since seventh grade and hold senior class leadership roles. Barbara is valedictorian and Ron is top honorary runner up.

Oak Hills High names All Round Boy and Girl for 1968 69

Mick Fiorini and Judy Martz named All Round Boy and All Round Girl at Oak Hills High School for 1968 69 based on athletic and scholastic standings. Mick earned Outstanding Senior Athlete plaque. Judy received GAA Honor Ring. Both held class vice presidency. Mick starred in football wrestling track and student council. Judy led as head majorette and GAA member. A separate district report notes Thomas Gregg receiving rope burn injuries while extracting a dog at 2917 Price Ave.

Contract Let For Ferguson Widening Job

The City of Cincinnati awarded a contract to Gerbus Brothers Construction Co. of Lockland for widening Ferguson Rd between Queen City Ave and Work Rd. The bid of 117117 dollars was the lowest from six bidders. Work starts in late June with completion by Oct 31, expanding the road to 32 feet concrete with curbs and gutters.
