Dick Hunt of Los Angeles set the 1500 meter U S speed skating record at 2 11 7 during a U S Olympic qualifying test in Colorado Springs The event drew 13 men and eight women as they competed for eight men and four women on the Innsbruck Austria squad Bedbury close behind at 2 11 9 with Fail and Disney also posting fast times Hunt and Bedbury were part of the 1960 Olympic team members.

Dawson Fires 4 TDs as Chiefs Thrash Jets in AFL Finale

Len Dawson threw four touchdown passes as the Kansas City Chiefs routed the New York Jets 480 to close the AFL season.
