The Home Economics Club completed its committee appointments to run a patriotic women’s button sale in Mobile. Revenue from selling fifteen thousand buttons on July 1 will defray expenses for the Preparedness celebration. Route parade details and divisions are designated as plans mature.
A lengthy list of committees and hosts is reported, naming many women and organizations including Hammel's Colonial Dames Battle House Bank of Mobile YWCA First National Bank and more. Companies A Mobile B Bay Minette C Penny D Fort Deposit E Mobile F Dothan G Brewton. Dr H P McDonald of Dauphin Street presented a case of smoked yellow glasses to First Regiment officers. A S Williams of Mobile, injured in a motorcycle collision Tuesday, is recovering and ready to move with his regiment.

They are believed to be Jutland battle victims drifting for hours before death from cold and exhaustion. Newspapers urge neutral Powers to permit search boats for survivors. Five cases of beer and one carton of whiskey were seized in Flanagan Bros store at Palmetto and Conception streets. Harry Puckett pleaded guilty to violating the prohibition law and was fined fifty dollars. Police said arrests would follow the seizure.
Montgomery Alabama June 29 special only twelve members of the first regiment had failed to sign the muster roll Thursday others of the thirty having affixed their signatures Thursday morning The delinquents are scattered throughout the regiment but if there are Mobile men in the list their names are not known Names of those refusing to sign will not be published in justice to them Officers of the regiment believe all will sign.
Rittenhouse Moore a leading Mobile dredging contractor died in his bed at the Grunewald Hotel New Orleans Thursday morning. Relatives in Mobile report the body will be brought back for burial. He spoke with son in law Dr Henry Goldthwaite Wednesday night and died at seventy.
Supervisor L C Garrison and fourteen enumerators begin Mobile County school census Saturday morning. The project will count every school age child and must be compiled by August 1. Parents are urged to call the Superintendent S S Murphy with names and birthdates to avoid omissions.
