Lee College transfers show minor GPA drop after university move
A preliminary study of 267 Lee College students who transferred to nine Texas senior institutions between 1982 and 1985 found GPA declines under 1 percent, with the largest decrease at the University of Texas at Arlington and the smallest at Sam Houston State University. Dean John McCormick notes transitions and home-life adjustments as likely factors. The majority of transfers went to the University of Houston Clear Lake City, followed by Sam Houston State University and Lamar University, among others. The study, guided by Don Perry, aims to assess academic success and improve data collection for broader follow-up studies.
