Explorers Reach Lava Beds on Desolate Desert Trek
Conductors Frank W. Dive and Jerry Kinney of the Oregon Short Line led a two week layoff from American Falls to explore the lava beds near Millar Butte. They traversed crevices and caves, collected burnt rock specimens, and reported scarce water with pools formed by melting snow. They returned safely and plan another trip better prepared for thorough exploration.

Court House Notes: Land patents and warranty deeds filed
The County Clerk recorded numerous warranty deeds and land patents in the past week. Entries include transfers between George Rytor and J. C. Simpson in section 31, township 42, range TLS 8150, and several deeds involving D. H. Craig, James Merritt, Anna Anderson, Ola Hokanson, and others across sections and townships in the county. Also listed are numerous land patents dating from 1906 to 1918 involving officials such as Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, and Woodrow Wilson, with multiple parcels in sections 5 through 40 across various townships.

Town Hall Kemmerer Council Hears Grading Bid
At a Kemmerer Wyoming Town Hall meeting on April 80th 1014 the council discussed street grading bids. Hibbs Halbert and Brandon attended while Cun nington Brown were absent. Hibbs reported offers from contractors with Lauckey Young the most favorable. The committee on grading streets and town attorney were authorized to draft a grading contract with Lauckey Young at the bid price per yard. Meeting adjourned with Mayor Watt Brandon presiding.
