District Court Concludes Term with Dismissals and Sentences

The May term closed as Prosecuting Attorney Jones moved to drop remaining criminal cases and discharge the jury. Judge Craig agreed, dismissing cases where land had been sold but payments not made. A verdict for Sights, Carollos, and Fuller established civil judgment, while Kemmerer Savings Bank won in two actions. Sentences were given for burglary and shooting at the night marshal with prison terms.

Court House Notes on Nomination Papers and Staff Change

Interest in the coming Primary grows as Harrison prepares nomination petition blanks but holds them until signatures can be dated June 1. Last filing date is July 1, per law, so blanks need not be mailed now. Miss Mabel Downey becomes deputy in the county clerk's office, replacing P. W. Comer, starting tomorrow morning.

Kemmerer Falls to Diamondville Despite Stellar Plays

In a Sunday baseball game at Diamondville grounds Kemmerer was defeated 8 to 7. Seigel at first made a spectacular catch and Pat Glasgow hit a bases loaded homer to spark Diamondville. Diamondville outplayed Kemmerer with key errors costing Kemmerer the game as Smith Oliver and Williams pitched for Kemmerer while Vealey Kavanaugh manned Diamondville.
