Walter L. Larsh issues notice for German descent males aged 14 and up in Wyoming to register as alien enemies. Registration runs Feb 4–9 1918 at local post offices with hours 6 am to 8 pm. Four unmounted photos required. form filled in triplicate. postmaster provides details.
Hunter Salmon returns from a visit to bands of sheep near Point of Rocks where bucks are being removed and held on feed. Snow is just enough for sheep to do well, no feeding yet, unlike last December. Sleepmen plan to use parts of four cars of corn if needed before lambing grounds, despite severe winter. Since August 1914 the U S has shipped a million horses and half a million mules to Europe.
Kemmerer railroad yards reduce activity due to line cleanup, possibly removing half a dozen freight crews between Montpelier and Granger. Coal movement remains about 160 cars daily, with 25 cars going to Ely smelters and other destinations. Ticket business in December sets a depot record for any month. Also a brief note seeks clean rotten rags for The Camera office at 3 cents a pound.
Owners with permits to appropriate water must prove beneficial use by February 21, 1919 or face forfeiture. The Division Superintendent will receive proof by the deadline. delayed submissions incur fines. State Engineer Jas. Bh. Tree signs the notice from Cheyenne, January 16, 1919.
