Carthage Fair honors Vaquero Wranglers led by Brad Noes
Brad Noes son of Mr and Mrs Bill Noes of Dry Fork Rd received a trophy donated by the Ohio Horsemen's Council at the 1975 Carthage Fair. He scored 138 of 140 points and advanced to the Ohio State 4-H Horse Show August 20 21. Teammates Donna Borntrager Kelly Morgan and Jeff Welsh earned Top Ten Awards. Look for Vaquero Wranglers at the Century and Silver Charity Horse Show September 21 at the Lloyd Curry Farm.

Speeder Shot at by Officers in Harrison Pursuit
David Holaday tried to elude Harrison Police early Sunday morning at 3:45 a.m. He sped along State Street and Harrison Avenue as Officer Stricker attempted a stop. The vehicles struck, then Stricker and a Binga man fired 12 shots at Holaday as the pursuit continued toward Harrison Pike. Holaday wrecked his car on West Road and Harrison.

King Kwik Robbery on State Street Sparks Police Action
Early Thursday morning August 28 at 1 40 a m the State Street King Kwik on South State Street was robbed of about 50 dollars. A cash drawer was stolen while two customers waited on the floor and a shotgun was pointed at the clerk Ralph Michael Annis. Suspects Harvey Jackson Himes and another man were later jailed in connection with the robbery after officers obtained descriptions and detained them following a lead from Harrison police and fire units responding to a false truck fire at Maple Leaf Trailer Park.

80 MPH Chase Ends On S. State Street
Three juveniles stole a car in Whitewater Meadows Labor Day morning and sped over 80 mph on State Street. They lost control near a Payless gas station, then eluded police for two hours across Interstate 74 and rough terrain before two were caught. the third returned home and all three face Dearborn County Court proceedings.
