Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class John M Breier was awarded the Coast Guard Achievement Medal for his duties as the sole yeoman at Air Station Detroit from March to July 1984. He handled command changes officer performance reports and other clerical workloads while contributing extra hours. A 1971 Wayne St Mary’s High School graduate, he joined the Coast Guard in July 1971.
