A juvenile female drove into the Polar Whip dining area building on Harrison Ave claiming brake failure. Marjorie Cunningham of Dry Fork Rd was hospitalized after a July 31 head on crash on Kilby Road near the railroad crossing. her Mustang collided with a Thunderbird driven by William E. Clark of Lawrenceburg. Clark was uninjured and charged with left of center.

Youths Knock Over Monument In Glen Haven
A four ft monument at Glen Haven Cemetery was toppled Saturday night by youths at a beer party. An unidentified visitor notified Harrison Police who detained the youths until a deputy arrived. charges are not yet known. The stone was reset Tuesday morning. it honored Mary Bell, who died in 1866 at age 24.

John Schlemmer Dies After Long Illness
John Schlemmer, husband of Pauline, a retired coal and feed dealer, died after a long illness. Funeral services were held at Jackman Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Earl Dunn officiating. He leaves three daughters Mrs Archie Mason, Mrs Bernard Losekamp, and Mrs Roger Atherton, seven grandchildren, four brothers Carl, Edgar, Paul, Albert, and a sister Mrs Mary Nowlin.
