In Boston July 20 John Donahue was sentenced to fifteen years in the State prison for raping Annie Foye two months ago in the city.
A Rochester dispatch reports a collision yesterday on the Auburn branch of the New York Central, a coal train delayed by a defective rail struck a westbound passenger train near Pittsford. The crash telescoped coaches, killing and wounding multiple passengers including Mrs Miles Cutting and Dr J Hawley. Engineers F A Schoeffel and John Barker, among others, were injured.

A dispute in Squire McLean's court centers on John H. Patterson owner of the Post Office Bulletin who owes 175 dollars to the Gazette printing room. The Gazette seized electrotype plates under writ of replevin to hold payment and Patterson plans to print at the Chronicle. Patterson sues Gazette for 300 dollars for delay and claims over 1,000 dollars in pending collections. trial set for next Monday.
